Experience a different kind of advisory relationship.
A Knowledgeable Partner
Cornell Capital Group LLC (CCG) is a boutique investment management and advisory firm. We specialize in designing and implementing custom strategies and portfolios tailored to each individual client. Our goal is simple: to understand the needs of each client, create strategies that address their unique financial situation, and deliver the solutions that will help them reach their objectives.
A Relationship Built on Understanding and Expertise
Before we recommend any strategy or solution, we take the time to fully understand your unique goals. One size does not fit all. Individuals have different risk preferences, objectives, and tax status, among other factors. We work with each individual client to design an investment strategy that simultaneously meets their needs and utilizes our skills, in order to create long term value.
Our team of professionals is led by Dr. Bradford Cornell, emeritus Professor of Financial Economics at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Dr. Cornell received his Masters degree in Statistics and his PhD in Financial Economics from Stanford University. He has published more than 125 peer reviewed articles and four books on a wide variety of topics in applied finance. Dr. Cornell is a past Director and Vice-President of the Western Finance Association and a past Director of the American Finance Association.
As a firm owned by independent Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), Cornell Capital Group (CCG) provides clients with a number of important benefits:
Since we’re not part of a brokerage firm with in-house products and services to sell, we are able to provide clients with objective guidance on which investments will best meet their needs.
Interests Aligned with Yours
Our compensation is based on a percentage of assets under management. Our simple fee structure is extremely competitive, further maximizing our clients’ after-fee performance.
Accountability and Focus
As an RIA, we are registered in the state of Califonia and regulated by the Investment Advisers Act of 1940—and thus have a fiduciary duty to act in the best interest of our clients.
Experience and Qualifications
The professionals at CCG bring proven expertise to every client relationship—backed by industry credentials, unparalleled academic backgrounds and practical experience.
A Scientific Approach to Investment Management
Cornell Capital Group LLC is designed to serve as a bridge between leading academic financial research and practical investment management. Not only are we able to draw from our own internally generated scientific research, our professionals have a keen insight into and understanding of leading academic studies. Furthermore, we have the capability to translate this research into real world practice.
One of the first and most important decisions an investor must make is how to effectively allocate capital between various asset classes (including stocks, bonds, and cash equivalents). Therefore, we begin by constructing diversified custom portfolios that are allocated across various asset classes to match clients’ specific risk preferences and objectives.
Active Asset Management
We also believe that there are mispricing opportunities which can be exploited to enhance the core investment. Based on our extensive experience and research capabilities we are uniquely qualified to uncover and take advantage of such opportunities. In order to both hedge risk and exploit mispricings, we take meaningful short and long positions most commonly using options. The extent of both active management and hedging can be tailored to the client’s particular interests and objectives as well as market conditions.
Efficient Tax Management
An important, and often overlooked, benefit of having an individual custom portfolio is the ability to manage tax obligations efficiently. The fact that our managed portfolios often include short and long positions, as well as options, enhances this opportunity. By working closely with our clients, we are able to enhance after-tax investment performance.
